Harvest and Denver

December 2, 2009

The snow hasn’t started to fly yet, so we have kept busy with last minute fall jobs.  Its things like making stock bales, working cows, and fall breeding that have kept us outside.

The last several Sunday afternoons have been spent with our 2010 Foundation Female Sale and Rapid City Consignments.  The first few Sundays, we had lots of hands willing to brush, wash, blow, and hang on the gates.  The crew has changed the last weeks as basketball and holiday festivities have captured our attention.  Our children, Paige, Bree, Kelly, and Ty have played an active part in getting these heifers ready.

Watch the website for upcoming updates for Denver and Rapid City!

Cow Sale

October 16, 2009

As the weather here starts to turn, we have decided to reduce our cow inventory.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for cows that are bred, known producers, and hold their own.  As you preview the list you can see that we bred the cows with the intention of keeping them through the spring calving season.  We have them broken into a commercial group and a purebred group that has papers and records with the AAA.  All the cows do have production records through our AMIS program.  If you would like more information, please email us at gfc@mhtc.net for the complete listing.

Hear it is suppose to be a great weekend to wash and work on the Denver consignments!  Looking forward to spending time on fall projects.

The World Beef Expo is at Wisconsin State Fair Park. The weekend schedule will be jam packed full.  The ROV Angus Show will be Saturday morning with an afternoon Sale to follow.  Check out our embryos on the Early Frost sale at www.worldbeefexpo.com.  We are offering LOT 10 : SVF OTG Primrose Lady 141N x GAR Predestined.  Package of 3 Embroys. 3X the money.

County Fair Season

September 4, 2009

We would like to invite you to take this weekend to enjoy some of the last county fairs of the 2009 season.  It will be the last chance to have a really good funnel cake, an onion blossom, or steak sandwich cooked by the local Cattlemen until next summer!

This is Paige and Bree’s first County Fair and our first year as a 4-H Family  So far the experience has been all we have anticipated.  Everytime out with the kids and cattle is an opportunity for us to really work together and prepare for future cattle events.

Paige will be showing Gaffney Primrose Lady 8148.  This fall heifer is home bred and raised along with her dam and sire.  We are thrilled with how she has come along.  We wish Paige, Bree and all the Mounds View 4-H members a great Iowa County Fair!
